Welcome to the
2024 LOM Annual Conference!

We invite you to gather in Baltimore, MD for our 2024 Lutheran Outdoor Ministries conference: Be More. We encourage you to Be, to rest and explore and learn alongside colleagues. We will equip you to Be More, to take away knowledge and tools to support your role as leaders.

There is a desire among outdoor ministries leaders to step out in new and adaptive ways. Tangible practices are needed to meet the changing needs of our campers, year-round and seasonal staff, families, and congregations.

This conference will offer beneficial tools to all participants, and you will come away with concrete ideas and resources to support and grow your leadership gifts and skills.

“God does not want us to be shy with God’s gifts, but to be BOLD, LOVING, and SENSIBLE.
2 Timothy 1:7.

Keynote leaders Mary Kay DuChene and Rev. Liz Eide of Leaderwise will share their knowledge and challenge participants to explore and grow their unique leadership gifts. A diverse and exciting group of workshop leaders will offer a wide variety of useful and intriguing topics that will fill your toolbox.

We will spend Tuesday in Baltimore City, at historic Christ Lutheran Church in the Inner Harbor. After a day of learning and fellowship, you will have the opportunity to explore the city, tour the offices of Global Refuge (formerly Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services), and try some Maryland seafood!

Worship is a beautiful part of our time together as a community, and we have some talented folks to help us experience worship in new ways. Jeremy Grenhart and Exodus Drive, and GenOUT are just some of the folks you will hear from — and we can’t wait to feel the joy and peace they bring to our gathering.

The Maritime Institute is a unique venue, surrounded by 84 acres of woodland, and set up to provide hospitality including endless snacks and delicious meals which take all dietary needs into consideration.

We look forward to welcoming you to Charm City!
